What this does
It reads the playlist, reverses the order, and plays it as a queue. You do not have to own the playlist, copy it, or reorder anything on YouTube — the original stays untouched.
When you need it
Plenty of playlists are built newest-first, because that is how the creator adds to them: a podcast where episode 200 sits at the top, a lecture series where the final class is first, a devlog that reads backwards. Starting at the top means starting at the end. Reversing it once is the difference between a watchable series and manual clicking.
What YouTube does instead
Open a playlist you did not make and the controls you get are Play all, Shuffle play and Save. There is no sort, and no way to reverse the order — you watch it in the order the author assembled it, or you click through it yourself. Since most playlists worth watching were made by someone else, that is the common case rather than the edge case.
Questions
Does this change the original playlist?
No. Nothing is written back to YouTube. The reversed order exists only in your queue.
Does it work on playlists I do not own?
Yes, any public playlist.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. This is a website rather than a browser extension, so mobile is the same experience as desktop.
What about playlists with thousands of videos?
Large playlists load in batches. Videos that have since been deleted or made private are marked as unavailable and skipped.
Can I sort by something other than reverse order?
Yes — by view count, length, or shuffle. Sorting by publish date is there too, but only for signed-in users with their own YouTube API key. The queue rebuilds without reloading.
